Some scenes from my living room window.....normally I have a beautiful view of the mighty Hudson River, but today, just lots of white stuff.
Whenever snow is predicted here, normally placid New Yorkers temporarily lose their minds, race to every supermarket and bodega, and buy up all the bread and milk in a five mile radius. Yesterday I was one of those mad fools, so today I am enjoying my snow-induced isolation. I hope to do some organizing and maybe even work on a few projects. But right now, a cup of hot coffee, a re-run of Numbers, and my big comfy couch are all calling to me.
Tis a beautiful scenery but really don't think I want to be there right now.`
ReplyDeleteOh, I could stand to be there, curled up with something warm to drink....love your views - that is quite a cold looking river! Diann
ReplyDeleteand i thought that only the east carolinians braced for bad weather by buying milk and bread!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day of creativity and just relaxing. It is quite a scenic picture to me but just a beautiful picture as I don't do well in the cold. I will keep the warmth and sun that we have.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the snow day! I had to go to work but I treated my self to a jumbo cup of hot cocoa with steamed milk. Delicioso! Enjoy couch surfing and staying warm at home. Lucky lady!
ReplyDeleteYay, think of you often when I hear these weather reports from out east. Much more crippling for you than it usually is here. At least we have lots of places to put the snow!! lol Enjoy your day holed in, I'm sure you'll be out... by the weekend....
ReplyDeleteThe snow makes for great pictures unless you have to try and get anywhere in it - stay warm and make great art!
ReplyDeleteI love your view....I would think NY's are used to all the snow!!! I'm glad you got your milk and bread girl!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful pictures and a great day to curl up on the couch and watch TV! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWOW and BURR!! Enjoy your time inside!! :o) I know you'll make the best of it. It cold, wet, sloppy and rainy here in TX...so will also be inside!!
ReplyDeleteI guess living here in Southern California I'll never get a "snow day" *sigh*
ReplyDeleteMaybe I could call in the next time it rains out here and tell my job that I'm staying in because it's raining too hard/much. How do you think THAT will work out for me? LOL!
PS I'm STILL celebrating my birthday *smiles*. Someone please tell me to stop the caloric intake!!
I love the panic at the grocery stores. Just what is everyone planning to do with all that milk and bread? We never hear about massive Bread Pudding parties, or Fabulous Morning After French Toast. Eileen, the view out your window is quite a beautiful sight. Last night I thought there was lightning during the snow, but it was just some neighbors leaning out their window taking photos.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the snow in the trees? I love that! Actually, it's about the only thing I love about snow! Ha!
