Altered Tins, Oh My!

So, the Gotham City Stampers had an altered tin swap.  I already shared the tin I made for my friend Heidi, but it was not until we met Friday night that I got to see the FABULOUS tin(s) that Pat, my good friend and future cruise cabin-mate made for me.  Pat is extremely talented and creative (and very funny), and for this project she outdid herself in all three categories.
Here is what I saw when I first unwrapped the package:
A great mix of grunge and vintage.....would love it if there wasn't any more to it, but there is.  Lift up the lid and what did I see, attached to the inside of the lid?
Yep, it's another tin, attached with velcro for easy removal, and inside, a little vignette that tickled me so......
In case you were wondering why there are some little holes in one
side of the tin.....
Pat says they're air holes so Tim and I can breathe.
Need I say more?
Well, if that wasn't enough, at the bottom was yet another altered tin, this one an altoids, and quite beautiful.
I guess by now you realize that Pat loves surprises, so it should come as none to find something inside.....I lifted off the cover and attached to ribbon, letters that spell out my name.
And on the other side of the letters, the makings of a party.
Pat is crazy, and I mean that in only the very best way.  We are going to have so much fun on the cruise this fall!

Love, love, love it. How awesome! Can't wait to get mine. You gals are so talented and I can only hope to be half as good as y'all are one day.

Now where do you find tins with handles like that?

Hello Eileen,

when you mentioned " Altered tins" I thought about the small tins, but wow , this big altered tin is a beauty !

I altered one of these two years ago and now I use it every day to bring my sandwiches to school :)

Pat does like to surprise you and I can imagine you will have a lot of fun on the cruise !
Two nice small tins , but the best is the one with you and Tim and the holes are such a funny idea !

greetings from belgium

I'm not sure I have much to add to the comments already posted, other than, this tin is totally RAD! I love the holes so you could "breathe". That is stinkin' hilarious. The whole thing is truly a work of art!

I will admit that I was laughing the whole time I was making the tin on the lid. And the air holes are a must! As we had a long lead time for this swap, I just kept finding things to add. The large tin is from Oriental Trading and I did feel guilty that I hadn't recycled any tin. No sooner did I have that thought than I peeked into a waste basket at work and there was the Altoids tin. I heard a heavenly choir. I am so lucky that Eileen shares my wicked sense of humor! If you see me on the cruise ask me about Little Eileen.
