Helping Hands

I've often said that the folks in the mixed media artist community are amongst the most generous around, and their response in the wake of hurricane Sandy only proves my point.  The wonderful people from the Art Is You retreats have put out the call for donations, and not only have people responded with cash, but countless of your favorite artists have created pieces that will be raffled off or sold.

Click HERE for more information, and if you haven't already, friend Art Is You on Facebook, where every day more artists are posting the pieces they are donating to the cause.

One of my favorite artists/teachers is fellow New Yorker Seth Apter.  I've raved about his blog on more than one occasion, and have been fortunate enough to take a few classes with him.  Seth is also doing his part in the relief effort.  Seth is auctioning a copy of his book, The Pulse of Mixed Media, which has been autographed by many of the contributing artists, as well as original art from some of those artists.  Check out Seth's blog for all the details.  It's a fantastic opportunity to not only contribute to the relief fund, but also to own some pretty cool art. Not to mention, a VERY
good book.
