The 12 Tags of Christmas, Day 1

It's finally here....Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas has begun!  I loved doing this last year; it is what really introduced me to Tim's products and techniques, and the great yahoo group All Things Tim.  All of which resulted in my going on the wonderful artful voyage cruise in October.  So, all of us Tim-oholics have been waiting impatiently for the 2009 tag event to begin.

Tag 1 is chock full of great techniques.  You should really go to Tim's blog and get that info first hand.  Here is Tim's tag:

I looked over the materials list, and while I had almost everything, I lacked some important pieces.....mainly all of the stamps Tim used!  But that is the fun part of the challenge, right?  So, instead of the snowman stamp I used a Santa image.  I found other flourish and snowflake stamps I could use as well.  I don't own a dyno label maker, but I printed my labels on grungepaper that I had stained white, and used a pretty cool snowcap font.  I was also shocked to find I didn't have the color distress stickles that Tim used to make the icicles on the top of the tag, but again, I improvised and am pleased with the results.

Here is my version, followed by a closeup.

Which technique did I love the most?  Hard one, but I'd have to say making my own wired ribbon.  Don't know if Santa normally wears a scarf, but I just had to try doing the ribbon, so my Santa has one on.

If you play along, please add a link to your photo in your comment so I can see what you did!
