artful voyage - I took a "few" things home....

Many months ago, when I signed up for the cruise, Tim strongly suggested that everyone bring an extra suitcase to haul everything we made, bought, were gifted with home.  I thought at the time that maybe he was exaggerating slightly.  Hah!
For this post I thought you'd enjoy seeing my bounty.

This pile on my desk is most of what I bought in the market place.  Notice I said most.  I keep finding more stuff tucked away.  I especially found it hard to resist all the vintage goodies Tim has been collecting and brought along.  Glass vials, vintage papers, magnifying glasses, skeletons, old rulers......

And this lovely mess represents what we received during our classes.  In Tim's first class every time we heard the Mexican Hat Dance it was giveaway time.  What a hoot that was!

Every time we made a purchase in the market place, Mario gave out raffle tickets.  On our last night we had a farewell cocktail party, and Tim hosted a giant giveaway.  Although none of my tickets were called, Stephanie, one of my wonderful dinner tablemates won several times (guess she bought a lot, LOL), and afterwards she gave me this awesome border punch system that she said she didn't need (!)

As we left the farewell party, we each received a special stamp of our cruise logo, packed in its own little suitcase:

I didn't buy much off the ship at all, and nothing in the gift shops on board (except for an extra bag and a tube of lipstick), but here are a few souvineers I acquired:

These will find their way into my cruise journal or other art.  I especially love the Dia del Muerte pieces I found, not to mention the great Frida Kahlo print.

Eileen, I think that Frida Kahlo print you got was fab-u-lous. I hadn't seen one quite like it before. And wasn't it on some different type paper too? I just remember it being something I thought was really special. You'll probably need to "sit on it" for awhile and think of something special to create with it!

Have you unpacked all of the goodies and put them up yet? . . . I bet NOT! LOL

Did I tell you that I'm going to see Tim AGAIN on November 14th?! Yep, he'll be at the RSC in Carson doing demos and make-and-takes. Can you believe it? *smiles*

PS So if you didn't buy or get enough "stuff", just hollah and I'll pick up whatever else you "need" and send you a package - hee hee
